Gene’s Irish Wheaten Bread

3 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

1 Cup White Flour

1 1/2 Tsps Baking Soda

2 Tsps Salt

2 Tbls Sugar

2-3 Cups Buttermilk

In a large bowl - mix dry ingredients - add 2 cups of buttermilk and more as needed - dough should not be too sticky - knead on floured board - just a little will do - place on buttered backing pan and shape round - cut a cross into top with a sharp knife - baste the top with a little buttermilk - bake at 350F for 50 mins - cool

Try a slice with butter and jam!
